DIRT

Last Saturday we all worked outside in the yard all day long. Casey was moving dirt all around the house to get ready so we can start landscaping. Dad worked at taking out dirt in the garden around the edges to put more top soil in. Yes, so that the garden will be bigger next year. So anyone that wants some fresh veggies call me and come help me pick and they are yours. I can't pick that big of a garden alone. Plus who can eat that much. I froze and bottled a ton and their was still a lot I had to throw away. I hate throwing food away. I tried to give it away but nobody wanted anymore squash either. Anyway, I also worked in the garden pulling out all the dead plants to get it ready to till up. The girls played in the dirt and then Nati decided to go to the store with my mom. Payton stayed and helped me. Towards the end of the day Casey and I were standing in the garden talking and we heard this little giggle. We both looked over at Payton and just started to laugh. She had tucked her shirt into her pants and was putting the DARK, BLACK Scofield topsoil down her shirt and giggling as she was doing it. It was hilarious!! I don't think she could get any more dirt on her.

Payton is such a poser. I kept telling her to hold still and she kept throwing all these poses out. So I had to post all the photos.

Payton's Black Eye

A week ago last Saturday we had some friends over for dinner and games. They have a little girl Payton's age and brought their niece with them that is Nati's age. So they were all playing and having fun when all of a sudden we hear this boom and then Payton starts crying. Nati's comes running out "Payton ran into the door!" Well it looked like a welt and a little scratch. All was well. As it started healing, her eye became puffy and started to go black. As each day went by it looked more black. These photos were 3 days after and it was darker than them a few days later. Funny but not!!

Yummy Dinner

We had this for dinner last night. It was really good and very easy to make. It hardly took any time at all. Also its pretty healthy. I used frozen chicken tenders and used about 8. And I used fat free Italian dressing. My family really liked it so I thought I would share. It came from the Kraft website.

Skillet Chicken & Vegetables Parmesan

Prep Time: 5 min Total Time: 18 min Makes: 4 servings

1/4 cup KRAFT Light Zesty Italian Dressing
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 small boneless skinless chicken breast halves (1 lb.)
1 tsp. dried basil leaves, divided
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen mixed vegetables, thawed
2 Tbsp. KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese

MIX dressing and garlic in large skillet. Cook on medium heat 1 min. Add chicken; season with 3/4 tsp. of the basil and the pepper. Cook 4 to 5 min. on each side or until chicken is cooked through (165ºF).

ADD vegetables to skillet; sprinkle with remaining 1/4 tsp. basil. Cook 2 to 3 min. or until vegetables are heated through, stirring occasionally.

SPRINKLE with the cheese.

Jazz It Up
For a spicier flavor, substitute crushed red pepper flakes for the black pepper.
Shortcut
To quickly thaw the mixed vegetables, put them in a colander and run warm tap water over them.

Family Pictures

Conference weekend we had our family pictures done. I've been planning them since Harley was born so that we could have an updated picture on our wall. Well she is now 6 months old and we finally did it. I had several outfits picked out over the summer but kept changing my mind because it just wasn't what I had in mind. From the beginning I wanted pink and brown but could never find the girls anything. So when I finally gave in and got something else that is when I found their outfits. What a chore!! Plus Casey had been working such long hours it was hard to plan around him. So this weekend he had off and I was determined to get them rain or shine. Well, guess what it was rain and no shine. Sad! Saturday I got us girls all dolled up and boy did we look great. We tried to get some good pix but that darn rain just ruined everything. However, I did get a way cute one of the girls together. Casey could tell that I was a little disappointed so he said, "We could try again tomorrow, maybe it won't be rainy." I was a little surprised at his comment, because taking pictures is not his favorite thing to do. Especially when he's married to a perfectionist! I try not to be so picky. So on Sunday we did it all over again and I thought that it was pretty funny that in President Monsons address he said take pictures 2x a year. Well, Casey said I have my quota in for the year after today!! Ha Ha!! Well, we got some pretty cute pictures of the family but now I need help deciding what one to put on my wall. So I am posting my favorite ones and letting you help me decide.

Here are the pictures of the girls!! They are cute. Casey & I even got some together. We haven't had any of just the two of us since we started having kids.
